Frequently asked questions
Everything people ask about Image Converter — cost, privacy, limits, formats and what to do when something fails.
Is Image Converter really free?
Yes — every tool on Image Converter is completely free. The site is supported by ads: a short ad plays before a download or conversion starts, and that is what pays the server bills. No subscriptions, no credits, no "premium" tier unlocking basic tools.
Do I need to sign up or install anything?
No account, no app, no browser extension. Everything runs in your browser session — any modern phone, tablet or computer works, and there is nothing to create an account for.
Do you store my files?
No. Uploads are processed in a temporary folder on the server and deleted the moment your download finishes. Downloads are fetched and streamed to you on the fly. We never keep, view or share copies of your files.
What is the upload size limit?
200 MB per file — far above the 10–25 MB caps most free converters impose. If a file is bigger, compress or trim it first with the tools here, then run your main job.
Why is there a short ad before my download or conversion?
Server time, bandwidth and the conversion engines cost real money. One short ad per action keeps every tool free for everyone, with no accounts and no paywalls.
Will my results have a watermark?
Never. What you download is the clean finished file — no watermark, no logo stamp, no "made with" credit burned in.
What can I convert here?
Image Converter converts images (JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, BMP and AVIF) — plus editing tools like trim, speed, reverse, compress and more, all listed on the homepage. Pick a file, pick a format, done.
Why did my link or conversion fail?
The usual causes: the post is private, age-gated or login-only; the file is over 200 MB; the file itself is corrupt or in a rare format; or the source site is rate-limiting. Re-copy the share link from the finished post, or try a smaller/different file. The docs page has a full troubleshooting list.
Does Image Converter work on my phone?
Yes — the whole site is built for mobile first. It is also an installable web app: on Android, Chrome offers an install prompt; on iPhone, use Share → Add to Home Screen.
